The founders of One World Skin & Wellness believe that dermatology and aesthetic surgery are more than just means to the superficial; they’re opportunities for a holistic future
In the pursuit of providing quality cosmetic procedures to the greater Filipino community, CEO and plastic surgeon Dr. Brian Ang shares that such passion runs in the family. “Our dad was a surgeon in the cancer field, but for us siblings, we wanted to take on broader specializations,” he shares. “For me, it was plastic surgery, as when you look beyond the prosthetic side of it, there’s actually a lot more to the field that not only restores form but also function.”
Apart from uniting his specialization with his wife, Dr. Daphne Chua-Ang’s own in pathology, the budding business owner also found that his family shared the same sentiment in pursuing their independent practices. So alongside Ang’s cousin, Suzzane Ong-Tan’s background in the cosmetics industry, his sister and board-certified dermatologist, Dr. Charlene Ang-Tiu, One World Skin & Wellness officially opened its doors in 2022 with a mission to make skin, body, and hair health accessible to Filipino communities through their shared values for communication and collaboration.
“During the pandemic, surgical procedures were down because nobody wanted to go to the hospitals. So we thought of establishing our own venue where patients could still have access to our services,” Ong-Tan shares. “We opened our clinic with the belief that every Filipino deserves access to quality dermatological, aesthetic, and plastic surgery treatments, so our mission is to provide such services without compromising on compassion, integrity, and affordability.”
In adapting to the year’s more digital-centered climate, the team decided to expand its reach through social media, led by the founder’s niece and marketing head, Nicole Uy Labrague, creating educational yet trend-inspired content that also highlighted the clinic’s credibility by featuring its growing family of dermatologists and plastic surgeons.
This would soon lead to growth in the brand’s clientele, allowing the team to expand their ventures through One World’s Surgery Center and its multi-specialty team of plastic surgeons, dermatologists, ophthalmologists, ENT specialists, anesthesiologists, and pathologists.
“Looking at the dynamics today, I can say it is much better than it was before,” adds Ang-Tiu. “Now that we’re placing our focus on shared growth, constant communication has become integral for us to not only maintain our standards and discuss future opportunities but also to ensure that we’re able to communicate the holistic impact of skin and wellness to the patients who approach us as their means for self-care.”
The CEO, alongside his team, also expressed how they continuously encourage and expose each other to new products, technologies, and procedures in the industry, sharing moments of their international excursions to various conventions, training programs, and conferences with other medical leaders.
“For us in One World Skin and Wellness, learning about the many innovations and discoveries never stops, as this allows us to evolve and progress both as a brand and as medical professionals,”

This aspect of the brand’s identity has also become integral to creating a collaborative and learning environment for their new-generation practitioners. From taking mentorship under One World’s experienced clinicians to exchanging insights during team meetings for internal ideation and decision-making, the brand believes that cultivating such an atmosphere allows it to develop and offer more services to a broader range of skin concerns, be it aesthetic, surgical, non-surgical, or health-related.
After celebrating One World Skin & Wellness’ third anniversary last July, the brand hopes that its services could eventually leave a lasting impact on the perceptions behind cosmetic dermatology and aesthetic surgeries. “At the end of the day, making our services as accessible as they are is also our way of making patients more aware of the benefits that their desired procedures can bring for their health,” the CEO expresses.
Looking ahead, Ang, alongside his family and team of medical professionals, wishes to see a future where priority goes beyond the patient’s procedure. “Ultimately, it’s for their well-being. We have to improve on how we can take care of our patients in and out of the clinic because nurturing beauty is not only about the physical changes that they’ll see, but the emotional impact it can give to their lives.”
