Carlos Yulo won gold in the men’s floor exercise, delivering the Philippines’ first gold medal at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, adding another significant milestone to his already decorated gymnastics career.
Carlos, 26, competed alongside his younger brother, Eldrew Yulo, in the floor exercise final on September 24 after topping the qualification round with a score of 14.600. After winning gold in the same event at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, Carlos entered the competition as the reigning Olympic champion.
The gymnast had already won gold at the Olympics, World Championships, Asian Championships, and Southeast Asian Games, continuing an impressive run that has made him the Philippines’ first double Olympic gold medalist. He is scheduled to compete in the vault and parallel bars finals, so his 2026 Asian Games campaign is far from over.
