Beauty Experts at Vogue Threads Manila 2026 Share Insights on Longevity

The Vogue Talks panel explores how skincare, wellness, and preventive care contribute to long-lasting beauty.

Over the years, the beauty industry has sought to understand the meaning of longevity. Experts in the past have only focused on aesthetics, but now it is being defined more holistically. Plant-based and raw vegan chef Cinty Yniguez, beauty entrepreneur and CEO of DMark Beauty and DermAsia Nikki Tang, and CEO and medical director of Templora Dermatologica Dr. Iris Templora, gave their thoughts on long-lasting beauty.

For the speakers, longevity means flourishing in all aspects of our lives. In practice, this is a consistent beauty routine. Sleep management, social connection, exercise, diet, and a skincare regimen are among the areas that Yniguez believes people must focus on to create a meaningful lifestyle that makes them feel good.

“Beauty changes, and we need to adapt and instill habits in ourselves so we can adjust to a level that will allow us to perform and function well,” she said. According to the speakers, these habits must start before there are even signs of aging because prevention is far more effective for longevity than treatment.

With the continuous boom of the beauty marketing industry, the speakers cautioned others to discern which beauty steps are effective. As a medical practitioner, Dr. Tempolra advised the audience to stick to the professionals. “Doctors treat based on evidence from scientific papers, while so many people are giving advice that we should take with a grain of salt,” she said.

Still, the pressure remains to live up to a beauty standard. To that, Tang advised people to accept who they are and appreciate their own traits; otherwise, their mental health and overall well-being will suffer: “You need to love how you look and how you feel.”

When asked if there is an ideal time to begin practicing longevity, the speakers emphasized that people can start building intentional habits at any age. As Dr. Templora stated, “Never too late to consult a doctor to see the following steps to see what can be treated and prevented.” They stressed that ultimately, longevity is adding years to one’s life and adding life to one’s years.
