The fall season is welcomed with the spring/summer 2025 collections during NYFW. Photographed by Jordan Van Vort, take a look at the latest styles for the upcoming spring/summer season.

As the leaves turn and fall in New York City, the season reminds us that change feels inevitable yet elusive. In NYFW’s spring 2025 shows, designers have taken the reins of transformation in their different ways, offering fresh perspectives on both fashion and the creative process.

Tommy Hilfiger’s spring 2025 collection, presented aboard the retired Staten Island Ferry, embraced classic Americana through a new lens. Known for his preppy, all-American designs, Hilfiger played with traditional themes like nautical and collegiate style but injected a sense of modernity through relaxed, lived-in styling and surprising details like crinkled fabrics and colorful capris.

In contrast, Melitta Baumeister’s runway celebrated movement and structure, inspired by sports and her exploration of shapes in motion. Known for her sculptural designs, Baumeister brought her pieces to life by allowing them to move dynamically down the runway, showcasing the relationship between fabric and fluidity. Football-inspired shoulders, oversized jerseys, and bike shorts added a sporty edge, while hand-sprayed sweats and silk-screened denims continued her tradition of texture and depth.

Inspired by the work of Chinese calligrapher Tong Yang-Tze, Jason Wu incorporated graphic, gestural elements into his garments, using materials like silk, chiffon, and canvas to explore the idea of ink. The collection balanced the structured and the ethereal, with tailored pieces softened by chiffon details and geometric cuts that created movement and ease.
