Bella and Gigi Hadid have dominated the catwalks in recent years, but in Copenhagen, a new Hadid has made her debut runway appearance: older half-sister Alana. Proving she’s already quite the pro, the 38-year-old opened the hotly anticipated Saks Potts show on the first day of Copenhagen Fashion Week, which was held by the sea on a wet and rainy Monday in the Danish capital.
Wearing a macramé bra and cropped beige jacket, teamed with a blue sequined skirt over jeans and flip flops, Alana‘s look reflected the eclectic approach to dressing that’s been seen on the Scandi fashion set in recent seasons. In fact, one could easily imagine several of the Saks Potts’s looks being worn by the model’s younger sisters (both fans of the brand), including the striped polo tops and pair of jorts.
Alana—who co-founded LA unisex brand La Detresse back in 2017—wasn’t the only famous face on the runway, with Noughties model Erin Wasson closing the show in a black one-piece swimsuit, paired with heels. The 41-year-old is a long-time friend and supporter of the brand, having walked for Saks Potts several times before.
Still, one can’t help wondering if Alana’s catwalk debut could lead to total Hadid sister domination on the runways next season, after Bella revealed over the weekend that she’d be “back when I’m ready” following a lengthy treatment for Lyme Disease. Watch this space.
