Meet the creatives, executives, and industry leaders shaping the future of fashion.
Each year, The Business of Fashion’s BoF 500 brings together the people shaping the fashion industry across design, business, media, beauty, culture, and technology. The annual gathering culminates in The BoF 500 GalaGalaA formal fundraising or celebratory event known for black-tie dress, high-fashion red-carpet looks, and elaborate dinners. Galas let designers dress public figures in statement gowns and tuxedos, and they oftenGo to Gala Glossary in Paris, where the newest members of the global fashion index come together during Paris Fashion Week.
Each year, the BoF team and current BoF 500 members submit their nominations for the index over several months. According to founder, CEO, and editor-in-chief Imran Amed, 445 names from eight categories (designers, executives, models and muses, entrepreneurs, catalysts, media, retailers, and creative class) were considered in selecting this year’s 100 new members. This year’s edition also welcomes new participants from Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Uganda, and Finland, each represented for the first time.
During the gala, Amed raised a toast to the guests and honorees, who “make our industry more interesting, more exciting, more sustainable, more inclusive.” He added, “All of these things matter so much for the future of our industry. It’s much better with each and every one of you in it.”
Among the new members is Archie G. Carrasco, chairman and CEO of AGC Power Holdings Corp. and publisher of Vogue Philippines. He is the fifth Filipino to become a BoF honoree, following SSI Group’s Anthony “Anton” Tantoco Huang, H&F Retail Concepts’ Mark “Jappy” Gonzalez, V Magazine founder Stephen Gan, and fashion personality Bryan Grey Yambao, also known as Bryanboy. This year’s honorees also include Stephanie Cavalli, Joram Muzira, Carlos Acosta Hazzi, Ye Shouzeng, and Shawna Tao.
The Bof 500 was established in 2013 as a definitive professional index of the people shaping the global fashion industry. The new class joins an existing roster that includes some of the industry’s most influential creative and business figures, making the annual gala both a celebration and a snapshot of where fashion stands at a particular moment.
