Throughout his 15 years in the entertainment industry, his fresh face has enthralled audiences
When the Netflix series It’s Okay To Not Be Okay became a worldwide hit in 2020, viewers were fixated on psych ward caretaker Moon Gang-tae played by South Korean actor Kim Soo-Hyun. His empathetic character, coupled with his chemistry with his co-stars, beguiled fans. The show was also Kim’s comeback role after a five-year hiatus that included his mandatory military service.
“I first started in 2007 and somehow I’ve already found myself here,” says the One Ordinary Day star in an interview with Vogue Korea. “I’m still running towards a dream.” The award-winning Kim Soo-Hyun also shares that his acting break and his military service in the province of Gyeonggi changed his values as well. “I also got rid of a lot of negative thoughts,” he adds.
More than Kim’s acting prowess, starring in shows and films such as My Love From The Star, The Producers, and Real, a feature that people would often compliment him on is his seemingly unblemished and supple skin.
“He has nice skin. His eyebrows are pretty. It was already ready before I did anything,” reveals celebrity makeup artist Shin Ae in an episode of a popular Korean YouTube channel. The makeup artist also shares that she would only enhance Kim’s features. “There was not much to do, for real.”
Now at 35-years old and in the South Korean entertainment industry for a decade and a half, the actor attributes his coveted smooth skin to two things: drinking enough water and never skipping his moisturizer in his regimen.
The versatile performer starts his day by consuming a glass of water, a habit that hydrates cells thus, helping skin stay hydrated. It also helps in removing toxins from his body. However, it is Kim’s brightening skincare routine that he also dedicates his time to, especially as YOU Long Lasting Beauty’s global ambassador.
A can’t-miss step in his daily skincare practice is applying YOU Beauty’s Radiance Up! Deep Moisturizing Cream, a dual-function cream with ceramides and an advanced brightening system to lock in moisture and repair the skin’s barrier.
The Moon Embracing the Sun star applies the Radiance Up! Deep Moisturizing Cream after cleansing and toning his face. Spread in circular motions across the actor’s face, the ceramide-infused emollient penetrates into the skin’s dermis to keep the skin smooth and hydrated.
The YOU Beauty Radiance Up! Deep Moisturizing Cream contains Ceramide 1-3-6 that soothes and repairs the skin and is formulated with a Powerful Brightening System with four key active ingredients such as SymWhite 377, a non-toxic tyrosinase enzyme that can reduce melanin production; niacinamide, a form of Vitamin B3 that can also minimize pores; and antioxidants like Vitamin C and licorice extract.
The Radiance Up! Deep Moisturizing Cream also has a non-sticky cooling formula that can leave skin feeling refreshed either during the day or before heading to bed.
