The first stop for Oreña and Quiñones was the Styling Studio, a personalized service where their face shapes, complexions, and even lifestyles were meticulously considered to find the ideal eyewear among the 1,500 designs housed in the store.
Quiñones, a fan of cat-eye shapes and golden hues, found herself venturing into uncharted territory with a silver palette and oval frames. “This is the first time I’m going for silver. Funnily, I just recently bought oval-shaped sunglasses just to be different. Turns out, it actually suits my face,” reflects the fashion director, setting for an oval black Gucci pair recommended by the Vision Express team.
Oreña, with her heart-shaped face, was pleasantly surprised by her assessment. “I always stay away from round-shaped glasses, rectangular specs, and almost always wear silver,” admits the beauty editor. The results convinced her to step out of her comfort zone, opting for larger, golden rectangular eyeglasses from Prada to balance out the curves of her face.
An eye for AI
The comprehensive eye care experience at Vision Express goes beyond spectacles. The editors were introduced to VisionBot, an AI-powered technology exclusive to select stores and will be offered for free for a limited time. This service utilizes artificial intelligence to perform an exhaustive range of diagnostic tests by evaluating the eyes in minutes. The bot evaluates one’s eye history by conducting visual acuity tests and binocular screenings.
“It’s surprising that what would take me hours, or even days, in the hospital, I’ll get results in minutes,” notes Oreña. She was particularly taken with how swiftly VisionBot delivered precise diagnostics, something she hadn’t experienced anywhere else. “I appreciate that it’s non-invasive. I feel empowered and reassured knowing that every aspect of my vision health is precisely evaluated. [This will] enable me to be proactive and have reliable management for my eyes and overall health,” shares Quiñones.
