In an exclusive interview with Vogue Philippines, Dr. Kho shares how Belo Medical Group’s participation in Vogue Threads is “a way to elevate Filipino beauty to the world.”

Every September, Drs Vicki Belo and Hayden Kho are already earmarked for trips to Italy and France. The month signals jaunts to exclusive visits to their favorite designer’s atelier, runway shows, and shopping in Montenapoleone in Milan and Avenue Montaigne in Paris

“Vicki and I have been attending fashion week since 2007,” shares Dr. Kho, managing director of Belo Medical Group, on their yearly visits to Europe’s fashion capitals with Belo ambassadors such as Catriona Gray, Pia Wurtzbach, Andrea Brillantes, Bryanboy, and Solenn Heussaff.

Coming from Milan, fresh from watching the runway shows of Prada, Gucci, Dolce and Gabbana, Versace, Bottega Veneta Spring-Summer 2025, and Missoni, the doctor-duo made their way to Paris for Vogue Threads, the second-anniversary gala of Vogue Philippines, as sponsors of the event.

Set in Palais Galliera, Vogue Threads honors Filipino heritage and weaving Philippine art, fashion, and culture to the world. “It’s incredibly gratifying to finally see the Philippines showcased on this prestigious stage,” remarks the 44-year-old aesthetic medicine doctor.

He continues, “Thanks to Vogue Philippines and Bea Valdes’ visionary team, our culture is being celebrated with the recognition it deserves—no less than Anna Wintour herself discovering the rich tapestry of Filipino craftsmanship.”

As a Filipino aesthetics brand, Dr. Belo, Dr. Kho, and Belo Medical Group acknowledge the unique facets and traditions of Filipino beauty, along with how intricate and deeply tied our beauty culture is with natural ingredients such as coconut oil, pili oil, and banana extracts. He reflects on these key elements in our traditional beauty practices, yet, for him, have not been fully explored on the global scene.

“There’s still so much potential in research and development to truly unlock the benefits of these ingredients. At Belo, we aim to lead that charge. We’ve pioneered medical aesthetics in the Philippines for 34 years, going on 35, and our goal has always been to elevate Filipino beauty to the world.”

A step in this direction was the recent launch of Belo NEXA, a 737-square-meter clinic and surgicenter in One Ayala Mall in Makati attended by Belo brand ambassadors Pia Wurtzbach, Piolo Pascual, Donny, Hannah, and Ella Pangilinan. Their newest clinic, themed as a futuristic hub-meets-nature, is the first and only TIEZA-accredited medical aesthetics establishment in the country.

He shares, “NEXA is poised to bring international experts together, allowing knowledge exchange not only for our 50-doctor network but also for specialists beyond Belo. By partnering with global peers, we aim to showcase Filipino dermatological expertise and further elevate our unique approach to skincare on a global platform.”
