Despite dedicating her career to CAD Clinic’s growth, the co-founder still hopes for the next generation to view her career as a foundation for their own

For young Nelda Valencia-Eufemio, her motivation to enter the cosmetic dental industry came from seeing other women succeed. Coincidentally, her representation came through her childhood dentist. “She was so good in what she did, and, at the time, her stuff was so high-tech. That was the first time I saw something so upscale, and that basically decided what I wanted to do.”

Though she now walks alongside her celebrity clients to welcome them into CAD Clinic’s Bonifacio Global City branch, the co-founder shared that she still resonates with the mindset of her younger self, but does so alongside her family and her eagerness to keep learning.

“During our time, there was no social media, so our best method for growth was through word of mouth,” Dr. Eufemio recalls. It was while knowing this, though, that the young professional remained persistent in establishing her name in Makati City. “It was a small clinic, but we were fortunate to have tapped the market of advertising agencies during that time. We would provide our dental care to commercial talents, and from there, the network unraveled itself.”

The impact that this approach had on CAD Clinic later on allowed the brand to amplify its reach by instead focusing on its services, while continuing the team’s respective educational pursuits for self-improvement. “It was overwhelming for a moment, but now we’re loving it,” the veteran dentist comments. “Tomorrow, there’ll be even more dentists coming, so we have to really be on our toes.”

The mother of two also shared how she wants to impart her sense of opportunism on the next generation. “You have to know how to make your own toast, too, you know? They have their own passions, and we can’t insist on that, but what we can do is at least show them how to do it.”

Today, CAD Clinic operates in its Shangri-La The Fort, Taguig, and GH Mall, San Juan branches. And though the 56-year-old now prefers to grow in her expertise in public relations, she still keeps herself occupied with day-to-day operations. “We’re moving each day, yet I’m still so excited to come to the clinic and to talk to our patients. I still feel that same level of passion, and that’s the mindset I wish to share with others.”

Looking ahead, the business owner envisions a future where the next generation of women would take a risk on themselves and their capabilities. While sharing that, she also recognizes that more women are embodying the leadership roles they take on, giving her hope of seeing her cycle carry on with the next generation. “I’m not leaving something behind, thinking that it can never be surpassed. I want the next generation to do just that, to empower more women and go full circle.”
