Grammy Award-winning Laufey and Filipino group BINI are among the honorees at Billboard Women in Music 2026.
When BINI performed on the Coachella stage, it was a historic moment as the first Filipino act to take that platform. Now, they’re continuing that push forward, earning the Billboard Philippines Global Force Award at Billboard Women in Music 2026, while Laufey, Vogue Philippines’ May 2026 cover star, takes home the Innovator Award.
Held at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, the 2026 Billboard Women in Music Awards honor women artists, songwriters, and executives who have shaped the industry over the past year. BINI was named a recipient on the same day as their historic debut performance at Coachella.
“Standing here tonight is something we, BINI only dreamed about. We are deeply honored to be given a chance to represent Filipino artists back home. This is not just a milestone for us, but also a responsibility we carry with so much pride. We also want to acknowledge all our co-awardees tonight, who we look up to,” Colet said in their acceptance speech.
On the red carpet, when BINI was asked if they were looking forward to meeting anyone that night, the group quickly pointed to Laufey, who was casually passing by. In her acceptance speech for the Innovator Award, Laufey reflected on her journey as someone who grew up with an affinity for jazz standards and classical cello. She shared that she once believed she had to focus on just one thing and master it perfectly, but eventually realized that what brought her the most joy was blending all of these influences together and creating art that reflects every part of who she is. “This has historically been a business governed by men who profit from the hard work of so many women. So I’m so glad to see that changing. And we’re all here today, not only because we pushed for change, but because we made room for each other.”
The event also recognized several other artists, including Kehlani for the Impact Award, Mariah the Scientist as Rising Star, Tate McRae as Hitmaker, Teyana Taylor for the Visionary Award, Thalia as Icon, and Zara Larsson as Breakthrough Artist.
