One of the most famous TikTokers in the world, the Filipino performer makes a special appearance on the star-studded catwalk.
In the digital world, there aren’t many that come close to the success that Filipino singer and content creator Bella Poarch has found. Born and raised in the Philippines before moving to the United States at 13, the now 25-year-old currently holds the record for most-liked TikTok video in the world. Poarch’s is also the third most followed TikTok account with 91.6 million followers, just behind Khaby Lame and Charlie D’Amelio.
A US Navy veteran who served three years in Japan and Hawaii, Poarch signed a record deal with Warner Records in 2021. Her first ever single, the dark-pop song “Build a B*tch,” hit number 58 on Billboard’s Hot 100 & Global Charts, while its accompanying music video received 11 million views on YouTube. By the end of that month, she was sharing her go-to beauty tips on Vogue US.
This month, during Milan Fashion Week, Poarch surprised fans by walking the runway at the Boss Fall 2022 ready-to-wear collection. The show—which was the first ever to be shoppable live on TikTok—was an innovative nod to the influence of social media. It featured quite the star-studded lineup, including Naomi Campbell, who opened the show. She was followed by the likes of now Boss ambassador Khaby Lame, deaf trans artist Chella Man, and Korean actress Seo Hyun-jin.
Poarch posted about her BOSS runway experience after the event on TikTok, sharing that she met Campbell backstage. Standing at only around five feet and surrounded by tall supermodels, she joked in her caption: “I don’t think I met the height requirement.”
