The star joined Labrinth on stage for her first live performance in seven years.
You simply never know what will happen on-stage at Coachella. At weekend two, Labrinth delighted the crowd when he brought out Vogue’s Five-Minute Fashion Month Debrief: Paris Edition”>Zendaya as a surprise guest. The audience went wild, and it’s no wonder why, given it was Zendaya’s first live musical performance in over seven years. (Her self-titled album was released back in 2013, but she has since focused on her acting career.) Zendaya joined Labrinth on stage to sing two hits from the Euphoria soundtrack, both of which she is featured on. They sang “I’m Tired,” which she co-wrote, and “All for Us.”
Given the Euphoria connection, then, it was only natural that Zendaya channeled a bit of the show’s signature style for her performance look. Zendaya wore a light pink, satin-trimmed top (worn over a white tank!) with a matching ruffled mini skirt, which she finished off with vampy leather laced-up knee boots by Christian Louboutin. That party-ready, slightly Y2K aesthetic is so Euphoria. However, it would be more at home in Cassie or Jules’s hyper-feminine closets than Zendaya’s character Rue’s.
On her Instagram Stories last night, Zendaya thanked the crowd for their deafening screams and support once she hit the stage. “I cannot express my gratitude enough for this magical night,” Zendaya wrote. “Thank you to my brother [Labrinth] for inviting me and giving me the most beautiful safe space to be on a stage again. Wow, my heart is so full, I can’t thank you enough for the love I received tonight, made all my nerves melt away.” Hopefully we’ll see her on-stage again soon.
