At Vogue Philippines’ The Devil Wears Prada 2 screening, Manila’s creatives imagined life at Runway.
When I first watched The Devil Wears Prada, I couldn’t help but ooh-and-ah at the ensembles Andy Sachs wore in the film. The Chanel boots, the white coat, the olive dress she wore while looking for the Harry Potter manuscript, and the final black dress she wore in Paris. In the sequel, we see Sachs wear vintage Jean Paul Gaultier, Ralph Lauren, Prada, Phoebe Philo, and more. And just like I did before, it got me thinking: what would I wear if I worked at Runway?
At Vogue Philippines’ Devil Wears Prada 2 private screening, the question was answered through its attendees’ looks. Below, see the trends we spotted during the exclusive screening.
Power dressing in 2026
Two years ago, office sirens were taking over the runway after 2023’s season of girlhood. Bayonetta glasses and kitten heels replaced the bows and laces of the previous year, ushering in a more grown-up take on fashion. This year, the trend takes on a new form, with blazers, suits, and matching sets worn by men and women alike at the screening.
Miss Universe 2015 and Vogue Philippines August 2024 cover star Pia Jauncey opted for a matching Gucci monogram tweed jacket and skirt. Meanwhile, model Teodora Cordial wore a Sam Rivera black jumpsuit with a black purse resembling a kitten. Designer Ivarluski Aseron attends wearing a gray blazer cinched at the waist with a black belt, while photographer Roj Maguyon keeps a boxy silhouette with red accents.
High-shine and metallic fabrics
Beneath flashing lights, a few guests chose high-shine, metallic fabrics for their red-carpet look. Vogue Philippines April 2026 cover model Maria Isabela Galeria chose a metallic, satin-like material that shifts between soft pink and bronze as it catches the light. Drag queens Arizona Brandy and Eva Le Queen follow suit, with Brandy wearing a black satin gown while Le Queen went for an out-of-drag look, wearing a shiny red coat by Chris Diaz.
Editorial off-duty
As Manila’s creatives were in attendance, many wore relaxed fits, including denim, zip-up jackets, leather jackets, button-down shirts, and wide-leg silhouettes. Model Renée Harthorne channeled a 2000s look with a fitted, spaghetti-strap cami in muted taupe brown and a black mini skirt paired with slouchy, mid-calf suede boots.
