Vogue Philippines Hosts a Special Screening of The Devil Wears Prada 2

From the Director’s Club at SM Aura Premier, Vogue Philippines hosted an immersive screening of The Devil Wears Prada 2, bringing together Manila’s creative vanguard.

On April 29th, Vogue Philippines took over the Director’s Club at SM Aura Premier for a special screening of The Devil Wears Prada 2, proving that the story of Runway magazine is still relevant 20 years later. It propelled Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci into mainstream stardom, inspired a Broadway musical featuring an original score by Elton John, and has since supplied script material for countless memes on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and beyond.

This event wasn’t just a film premiere, but as an extension of the Vogue Philippines universe, where the fabricated domain of Andrea Sachs and Miranda Priestly collided with the real-life reality of Manila’s creative community. As Archie Carrasco, AGC Power Holdings Corp. chairman and CEO and Vogue Philippines publisher, shared, “It feels meaningful because The Devil Wears Prada 2 speaks to fashion, ambition, creativity, and the world behind the image, ideas that strongly resonate with the Filipino creative community.”

Upon entering the Level 4 cinema lobby, guests were submerged in an atmosphere of high-fashion shoot, schmoozing and boozing against the floor-to-ceiling black draping and a ‘VOGUE’ photo wall that served as the evening’s symbolic anchor. The centerpiece was a recreation of Miranda Priestly’s desk, an immersive installation designed by Milo Timbol that invited guests to step into the shoes of New York’s most powerful Editor-in-Chief.

Nearby, an “Elevator Photo Booth” created in collaboration with Cream Silk offered a subtle nod to the film’s elevator scenes, complete with professional lighting that allowed people to capture their own editorial-grade content. This interplay between a cult-classic and digital storytelling underscored the film’s theme of evolution within the publishing industry. Carrasco noted that “a Vogue Philippines-approved cinema experience had to be curated, elevated, and intentional,” with every detail considered, from the guest list to the overall atmosphere.

The crowd felt like a living mood board of the Vogue Philippines aesthetic, with designers dressed in their own creations, animatedly discussing their favorite Lee McQueen collections. Vogue Philippines’ editors Pam Quiñones and David Milan mingled with a new generation of visionaries, munching on canapés by Margarita Forés Signature Catering and drinking custom Johnnie Walker cocktails with cheeky monikers like “The Devil Keeps Walking,” ensuring the spirit of the film was felt in every sensory detail.

Inside the theater, the experience remained intimate, with each seat holding a deep red Vogue canvas tote bag packed with the latest issues of the magazine. Before the opening credits rolled, the air was thick with the sense of a community reunited to celebrate a story that has come to define the professional aspirations of so many in the room. This screening was more than a tribute, it was a testament to Vogue Philippines’ role as a bible of fashion and culture.
