Photographer Martin Romero Shares Moments from Paris Fashion Week

Photographed by Martin Romero

In Paris, Martin Romero takes Vogue Philippines through the last day of Fashion Week.

Martin Romero is no stranger to the highs and lows of Fashion Week. On the streets of New York City, he made a name for himself by taking street-style photos in between fashion shows, capturing the likes of Drew Barrymore, Sydney Sweeney, and Bretman Rock. In a previous interview with Vogue Philippines, he shared stories of photographing Michaela Jaé at the Met Gala and getting starstruck by Ariana DeBose.

It all sounds exhilarating, but there’s more to the life of a photographer than what meets the lens. This time around, the Filipino photographer is traipsing around Paris for Fashion Week. “Photography during Fashion Week is incredibly diverse, ranging from get-ready-with-mes to street style, and from backstage to runway,” Romero shares. “Most people think photographers live an ultra-glamorous life during Fashion Week. While there are those who live that life, there’s so much more that goes unseen, far beyond the Instagram lives we present.”

“I started out as a street style photographer with no access to the shows, but over the years, my work has granted me access beyond the steel barricades and screaming fans,” he continues. “I want to give you a glimpse into the typical life of a photographer during this hectic time.”

On the final day of Paris Fashion Week, Romero takes Vogue Philippines for an exclusive peek of the backstage, runway, street style, and after-party moments at Peter Do, Miu Miu, and Louis Vuitton.
