Sabrina Carpenter Goes Old-Hollywood Glam in Sabrina-Inspired Dior at the 2026 Met Gala

Sabrina Carpenter is. . .Sabrina at the 2026 Met Gala. The “Manchild” singer stepped out onto the red carpet in a custom Dior slit tulle dress by Jonathan Anderson. The look pays homage to Audrey Hepburn’s 1954 film Sabrina, which is further accented by the full body wrap of rhinestone film strips. (If you zoom in, maybe you can catch a glimpse of Humphrey Bogart and William Holden in the film stills, too.)

This year marks a special occasion for the singer. Not only did she just headline Coachella—like she said she would way back in 2025—but she also joins this evening’s event as a member of the host committee alongside other mega-stars, including Teyana Taylor, Doja CatLisa, Misty Copeland, and many more.

Across her now four Met Gala appearances, Carpenter has yet to carve out a single signature look. Instead, she’s a wild card, leaving her fans guessing what could come next. That is, of course, by design. “My look for every year has been totally different,” she told Vogue ahead of last year’s event. She made her debut in 2022 for “In America: An Anthology of Fashion,” where she wore a golden two-piece set composed of a glittering bikini top and high-waisted skirt by Rabanne.

In 2024, she kept things a little more subdued, opting for a black mermaid gown by Oscar de la Renta that cascaded into a cloud of blue. Last year, Carpenter went all-in on the “Tailored for You,” dress code, sporting a pinstriped “body-suited” look by Louis Vuitton. The silhouette was also reminiscent of Lisa’s Louis Vuitton blazer and sheer tights. (Perhaps it’s kismet that they are both on this year’s host committee.)

If last year’s look was giving global pop star, tonight’s gave young Hollywood starlet—two sides of the same sartorial coin that is Sabrina Carpenter.
