Olivia Rodrigo often incorporates vintage into her wardrobe, whether it’s an ’80s rock T-shirt or the ’90s Chanel skirt suit that she wore for a visit to the White House. Now, the singer has added more trophy vintage to her growing collection: specifically, Tom Ford-era Gucci.
While in Berlin to promote her forthcoming album Guts, Rodrigo stepped out in a pair of blue psychedelic velvet trousers from Ford’s spring/summer 1996 collection for Gucci, sourced via Tab Vintage, which she paired with a simple black tank top.
Tom Ford’s maximalist Gucci designs are highly sought-after among A-listers and vintage collectors alike, with the likes of Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Rihanna all sporting pieces from the era in recent years. In fact, the designer’s Horsebit clutch from the Noughties (spotted on Jenner on several occasions) was recently reissued on the runway, proving how popular his time at Gucci is right now.
It’s clear that Rodrigo has an eye for vintage and, like many of us, loves the thrill of the hunt. Another archival gem in her wardrobe? A plaid Versace minidress that previously belonged to Chloë Sevigny. “I’ve had this dress, the picture of [Sevigny] wearing this dress, saved on my Pinterest for years, and I was actually able to get my hands on it,” she previously told Vogue. “I’m so lucky – it’s my most prized possession.”
