Chanel kicked off the last day of Fashion Week at the Grand Palais Éphémère. Here is everything you need to know about this Parisian fashion finale.

On Tuesday, October 4, at the Grand Palais Éphémère, the house of Chanel presented its Spring/Summer 2023 fashion show. In attendance were house ambassadors Kristen Stewart and Blackpink’s Jennie. It was an endearing tribute to the costume designs exclusively designed by Gabrielle Chanel for actress Delphine Seyrig, for the movie, Last Year at Marienbad (1961) by Alain Resnais. The signature details for the Spring/Summer 2023 collection included colored tweeds, sequins, feathers, rhinestone-encrusted boots, elevated jersey knits, jackets with sequins and deconstructed prints. See it all for yourself in the pictures below.

Shades of Pink

We saw pink, in all of its glorious shades, in the Spring-Summer 2023 Chanel silhouettes. A soft pink was chosen for a masculine-feminine suit with houndstooth print, while a vibrant shade was perfect for a distinctly modern skirt suit. Pink is set to make its way into our wardrobes for another season.

The Sophisticated Evening Dress

Virginie Viard believes that allure according to Gabrielle Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld entails a melange of the night sky, feathers, sequins and evening heels. The allure for this season’s collection is inspired by the French cinema’s New Wave (Nouvelle Vague) movement. For the collection, this translates as wispy silhouettes, carried by certain freedom of movement and liberation of the body.

Fishnets

Ultra-chic fishnet stockings made their comeback on the fashion scene, paired with the iconic two-toned shoes of the house of Chanel. They appeared in both black and white, sometimes adorned with sequins, adding an extra dash of sophistication to the outfits. So let’s shine!
