How does Victoria Beckham start her day? You won’t be surprised to learn that this eternally lithe fashion and beauty mogul prioritizes her health and wellbeing first thing. She shared the details of her routine with her followers over the weekend–here’s what we learned:

She starts her day with apple cider vinegar

Posting a snap of Bragg’s organic, raw and unfiltered apple cider vinegar, VB explained that the first thing she does upon waking is take “a couple of tablespoons on an empty tummy.” A natural remedy that helps to balance blood sugar, support digestion and boost the immune system, apple cider vinegar has had a renaissance recently–just be sure to take yours raw and organic for maximum health benefits. While VB takes hers straight, most experts recommend mixing with water to prevent the erosion of tooth enamel.

She and David make green smoothies

Smoothies are a great way to start the day because they are easy to digest and can help us incorporate lots of nutritious ingredients into our diet. VB and David are all about making them green with lots of vegetables–too much fruit and not enough veg can cause the blood sugar to spike, leaving us hungry. The Beckham family smoothie includes spinach, broccoli, celery, cucumber, avocado, apple, lemon, and ginger, making it full of antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, plant-powered goodness and fiber.

She works out five days a week

The Beckhams’ personal trainer, Bobby Rich, previously shared details of their daily workout routine. Exercise is a non-negotiable priority for the pair, and Victoria hits the mat five days a week. As well as doing lots of weight training, Rich creates a year-long plan that encompasses endurance, cardiovascular and recovery, to ensure their bodies are challenged in all the right ways. Post-workout? VB has another smoothie, combining pasture-raised whey protein powder (vanilla flavored), blackberries, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, almonds, an apple, and a banana.

A shot a day…

… Keeps the doctor away. No, not the tequila kind, rather a health-boosting blend Victoria takes each day: fresh ginger, lemon, black pepper, and turmeric. A fiery delight, this is the ultimate anti-inflammatory concoction and can help ward off illness, keep the skin luminous and aid digestion, amongst other things.
