Classic and pared back, but never boring, guests arrived in iterations of timeless luxury, be it via a soft smokey eye or an alluring pastel glow.
With the Vogue Philippines Anniversary Gala celebrating the beauty of “Rewear,” timelessness was on everybody’s mind. People arrived in elegant black and white ensembles, accented with thoughtful details like handcrafted fabric blooms or statement necklaces.
To complement these elucidations on quiet luxury, guests finished off their ensembles with classic makeup that accentuated their best features in the most glamorous fashion. Sarah Lahbati paired a soft, smokey eye and neutral lip with loose waves that cascaded down her bare shoulders to complement her ivory gown. In lieu of stick-straight hair, natural waves exuded an ethereal feel as seen on the many ladies at the gala.
Newlywed and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, who arrived with her husband Jeremy Jauncey, chose a slicked back updo with dramatic eye makeup and statement jewels from Bulgari. Another beauty queen, Celeste Cortesi, channeled ladylike sophistication in a tea-length LBD, and a clean half-up half-down hairstyle. Tones of pink in her eyes and lips gave her look a feminine touch.
Elegant upswept hairstyles were a prevailing trend, albeit a little undone, giving the looks a softness and insouciance. Bea Alonzo was gorgeous in a loose updo and shimmery pastel hues on eyes and lips, and glowing skin. Max Collins, on the other hand, paired her slinky evening gown with a sultry palette of earth tones she had done herself, having just landed from a trip abroad just in time for the gala.
With fashion having developed a profound appreciation for things that last, and for the value in re-wearing garments, guests are able to add to each instance another storied layer. And what better way to commemorate these memories than with makeup that will stand the test of time?
