Celebrities and industry veterans celebrate distinct Filipino fashion identity at the Vogue Philippines Anniversary Gala

The Vogue Philippines Anniversary Gala is officially underway, and this year is far from the usual. Instead of having guests simply pose and stand in front of a line of photographers, the event chose a more intimate and personal approach.

Sprawled across the black carpet were life-size versions of the magazine’s covers thus far. From the April issue that featured Apo Whang-Od to their most recent cover that has National Scientist Dr. Dolores Ramirez smiling brightly at the camera, guests couldn’t help but be in awe of the images that made major global headlines. Stacks of physical magazine copies also sat underneath the VOGUE letter standee, a show of how print is far from dead.

This year, attendees were asked to follow a dress code of “Re-wear.” With this, the carpet didn’t fall short on creativity. Some collaborated with their favorite designers to create something new from old collections. Meanwhile, others brought out archival pieces and added a modern touch through the styling.

Some notable looks include those who showed us all the different ways to wear an LBD, such as Celeste Cortesi, Jessica Yang, and Kyline Alcantara. Meanwhile, Bretman Rock had a grand entrance wearing a sculptural top made from hand pleated organza by Rajo Laurel. We also saw the signature styles of Filipino designers, such as Jude Macasinag and Andrea Tetangco in a new light as they reworked their own pieces for the event.

Below, scroll through the memorable looks from this year’s black carpet:
