Anne Hathaway’s Red Micro-French Mani Proves the Devil’s in the Details

Andy Sachs is back in business. That’s right, The Devil Wears Prada 2 press tour kicked off in Mexico City on Monday with stars Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep leading the charge. And while Hathaway certainly delivered looks her character would be proud of (a black-fringed Schiaparelli gown and a sequined magenta mini by Stella McCartney), eagle-eyed fans would notice that she also gave some subtle nods to the film’s signature color: stiletto red.

Hathaway opted for a red micro-French tip manicure by Sara Roomer that perfectly matched the movie poster’s signature stiletto heel, proving the devil really is in the details. Coined by nail artist Betina Goldstein, the micro-French is one of the spring’s hottest nail trends, defined by a barely-there line of color across the free edge of the nail.

With more stops in Tokyo, Seoul, Shanghai, New York, and London, there are sure to be plenty more easter eggs and Instagram-worthy nail looks to come. Our bets? Cerulean, floral nails, or a plaid mani that would totally vindicate Andy’s “hideous skirt.”
