Leica’s new M EV1 camera debuts with a built-in electronic viewfinder, high-resolution sensor, and modern connectivity features.

At Greenbelt 5 in Makati, photographers, creatives, and Leica enthusiasts gathered for the official launch of the Leica M EV1. The event celebrates the arrival of the first M-Camera with a built-in electronic viewfinder, bringing together its analog heritage with the precision of modern innovation.

The Leica M EV1 is the first M-Camera to feature a built-in electronic viewfinder, offering photographers a new level of control and flexibility without compromising the minimalist design that defines the M line. Equipped with a 60.3-megapixel full-frame BSI CMOS sensor, Leica Maestro III processor, and 5.76-million-dot EVF, the camera delivers clarity and color depth. A full-metal body crafted from magnesium and aluminum reinforces its durability, while connectivity upgrades, USB-C, dual-band Wi-Fo, and Bluetooth enable seamless integration with the Leica FOTOS app.

At the event, guests were invited to experience the camera firsthand and explore how the new M EV1 expands creative possibilities. Presentations by Geriel Ramos, documentary wedding photographer and founder of Artystafoto, and Dr. Benk Cabrera, ophthalmologist and photography enthusiast, highlighted the relationship between vision, emotion, and image-making. Ramos spoke about photography as an act of authenticity and storytelling, while Cabrera reflected on how both his medical and creative practices center on the art of seeing clearly.
