The newly revamped store reflects Mango’s vibrant, playful, and stylish spirit
Inspired by popular Mediterranean destinations, the Spanish-based fashion brand Mango opened its freshly renovated space in Greenbelt. The updated showroom version features a brighter and more spacious area using eco-efficient materials called New Med, a first among its store locations in the Philippines.
“We wanted to link the character and cultural imagery of the Mediterranean into the store’s concept,” says Kelly Rose Santos Sevilla, district country supervisor of Mango Philippines. Santos-Sevilla also shares that the renovation was a way to reflect the spirit of freshness and nature of the brand.
The redesign of the Greenbelt shop to a more homey and relaxed aesthetic is a continuous effort across key Mango flagship stores globally. The first retail area to be transformed into the New Med concept is in Düsseldorf, Germany followed by Singapore in Raffles City and Bordeaux in Rue St. Catherine, respectively.
Inside the boutique, wide arches that are emblematic of European architecture are easily seen from the entrance. White textured paint, recycled oak, and terrazzo accents were also essential embellishments of New Med. The Catalan fashion label’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection also plays a part in adding azure accents that are reminiscent of Greece.
As a retail brand that is committed to sustainability efforts, these aspects are more emphasized in the Mediterranean concept. “The [revamped] store also features elements such as eco-efficient lighting and ventilation. The design incorporates sustainable materials such as natural paint and recycled plastic,” says Santos-Sevilla.
The launch also highlights significant pieces from their Spring/Summer 2023 collection that are exclusively available in the Greenbelt store featuring bright ruffled dresses, fuschia pinstripe blazers and trousers, and colored printed dresses.
Celebrating 25 years in the country, the Spanish retail brand wants to continue to be a closet staple among Filipinos. “Mango’s style and aesthetic really mesh well with Filipinos. There’s a lot of style mileage with the clothes that you can re-wear them no matter the season. Whether you’re out to meet your friends for dinner or traveling to a summer destination, there’s always a Mango piece for you,” says Santos-Sevilla.
