Samsung calls on 30 local creatives to create a fashion-forward lookbook with their favored Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 smartphones
For the official launch of the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7, Samsung took to honor the foldables’ enduring relationship with fashion and the arts by curating an editorial-style lookbook featuring 30 of the Philippines’ budding and established creatives.
From multihyphenated personalities like Catriona Gray and Janine Gutierrez to content creators and artists such as Ry Velasco, Erwan Heussaff, and Jilson Tiu, Samsung aims to not only celebrate the country’s growing community of tastemakers but to establish the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 as companions for creative expression.
Looking through the past generations of the Galaxy Z series, the brand has allowed the distinct design of its Fold and Flip models to serve as muses for the fashion and arts industries, amassing an archive of bespoke collaborations with heritage brands Maison Margiela and Thom Browne as well as Philippine and Korean artists such as Jappy Agoncillo and Haydonna.
With the Galaxy Z series’ seventh generation of foldables, however, the brand now aims to shift the focus of the devices to instead be the means for users to hone and discover new ways to create their art through its AI-assisted experience.
For the Galaxy Z Fold7 model, its immediate impression is shown through its updated design. While adopting a larger, 8.2-inch AMOLED display (when expanded), this iteration brings the width of the phone to that of its USB-C charging port, making it the thinnest the Fold model has ever been. On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Flip7 now boasts Samsung’s Infinity Cover display on its outer screen, giving users a larger canvas for both multitasking and customization without having to open their phone.
But aside from their new looks, both phones also feature an updated ensemble of cameras that now take advantage of a refined Galaxy AI assistant. From the Galaxy Z Fold7’s side-by-side editing previews and optimized multi-app tools to an image-processing software dedicated to enhancing selfies on the Flip 7, the two foldables do resonate in their shared ability to lend their lenses to Gemini Live.
With these features, users can either share an image or point their camera to look up their newfound creative inspirations in real-time. And by using either phone’s front-facing cameras, users can even ask Gemini for styling suggestions on their outfit with a single glance.
With the unveiling of Samsung’s seventh generation of folding smartphones, the brand hopes for users to utilize the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 not only as a tool for photography and content creation but as a companion that expands their eye for creativity along with its users. “The Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 are not just about folding screens; it’s about reimagining how we interact with our devices,” shared Samsung Philippines head of Mobile Experience Jun Guevara.
