The beauty queen consistently promotes the unapologetic acceptance of natural beauty, a path she explores alongside Belo’s Thermage FLX
Fresh from passing the crown at the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 grand coronation, Michelle Dee talks about her journey and how it intertwines with her view on beauty and self-care. Wearing her Apo Whang-Od-inspired gown during her final walk was not just a fashion statement but a tribute to her journey. “Wearing it again felt like I was also giving homage to every story, every drop of sweat, and every ounce of effort that came after is all of ours to share.”
Dee’s tenure as a beauty queen was filled with projects and advocacies aimed at celebrating identity and beauty in its most authentic form, a philosophy she continues in collaboration with Belo and Thermage FLX. The beauty queen emphasizes the importance of self-care and non-invasive medical enhancements as a means to embrace one’s authentic self.
The beauty queen, who is frequently seen showcasing her versatility across television, social media, and print advertisements, openly acknowledges her encounters with skincare obstacles. In a recent video shared during her shoot for Belo’s Thermage FLX, the 29-year-old, along with long-time makeup artist Dave Quiambao, opened up about her skincare struggles particularly with water retention. “My recurring problem is the puffiness around my face that I couldn’t get rid of,” she confides.
After trying on the procedure, Dee noticed a healthy lift to her face, “What I love about Thermage is that it works with what God has already given me. It [amplifies] those things that I need a little bit of help with,” she shares, adding that the treatment was also effective on certain parts of her body.
Thermage FLX is a non-surgical procedure that combats skin issues by tightening and contouring the skin. The treatment also improves skin complexion and texture to address dry and dull skin. The yearly session requires no downtime, making it ideal for those seeking a natural, radiant glow without drastic measures.
Reflecting on her journey to the Miss Universe stage, Michelle expressed gratitude towards Belo and its founder Dr. Vicki Belo, highlighting a variety of treatments that catered to her needs. “Aside from Thermage FLX, which I did on my face and body, I have a lot of Belo favorites. I can’t choose just one–V-Contour, laser hair removal, and Emsculpt to name a few.”
