Kristine Agcopra never set out to build a jewelry empire. Her journey into fine jewelry began unexpectedly, shaped by years spent traveling the world as a flight attendant. “Honestly, it just developed over time. I was a flight attendant for 10 years. I was based in Saudi Arabia, and I used that as an opportunity, as an advantage, to look for the best and the most reputable jewelry suppliers in the world. So that’s how I started buying and selling.”
What began as a buy-and-sell venture steadily grew into something bigger. “I wasn’t into customized jewelry yet. I did live selling from my supplier stores for five years. And through that, I gained a lot of loyal customers, who, to this very day, are still my clients.”
The pandemic became a turning point for Agcopra. Even as businesses slowed down, she continued selling jewelry online. Some of her clients even visited her home to shop in person. “That’s when I realized I had to take the next step. So, right after the pandemic, I took the risk and opened Theia Gems, a jewelry brand that envisions to make fine jewelry accessible to everyone. And I’m grateful that I did.”

Today, her definition of success has evolved beyond financial gains. “I think success means that you feel happy. You feel content with whatever you’re doing. You own your time. You know how to balance between work and life. Because right now, that’s my main priority. For the past years, I have been working a lot, and sometimes, I tend to forget how to actually live.”
Though she once lived a fast-paced lifestyle, constantly on the move, she has no regrets in opting for more stable roots. “On my days off, I would use that time to fly to Europe and still work; shopping for others. But I don’t regret anything because, through that, I was able to save money. And if I had to redo it, I wouldn’t change anything at all. Because those experiences led me to where I am now, and I’m grateful for that.”

Looking ahead, expansion is on the horizon for Theia Gems. “I would really want to develop the brand more.”
Yet, what remains most rewarding is seeing her pieces become part of her clients’ most cherished moments. “Actually, every couple that visits Theia Gems is a memorable moment for me and for the brand. It’s a very humbling feeling. I feel honored every time a couple chooses Theia Gems for such an important milestone in their lives.”
