Faux Fur Straps, Brazilian Weaving, and the 2000s Create the Silhouettes for this Summer Footwear Collection

For their second collection, Havaianas and Dolce&Gabbana delve deeper into the Italian fashion house’s heritage while integrating elements of Brazilian craftsmanship into this year’s ensemble
This year, Italian fashion house Dolce&Gabbana centered the visual narrative of its Fall-Winter collections through a blend of Hollywood glamor and late-80s grunge, showcasing a day-to-night crossover from effortless style to classic tailoring.
As an expressive flourish to this year’s ensemble, Dolce&Gabbana rejoins Havaianas to create the four designs of their second limited-edition collection, introducing refreshed patterns and textures close to the fashion house’s heritage, with elements of traditional Brazilian artistry incorporated into its flora-centered models.
As the sequel to last year’s edition, the “Classics” models take on an approach that introduces more from the Legnano fashion house’s design codes. Aside from dignifying its all-over Leopard and Zebra patterns with thickened, black faux fur straps, both pairs are also ornamented with metallic gold Havaianas detailing as well as a now off-centered Dolce&Gabbana pin, details that would also serve as the very signature of the collaboration.
Drawing inspiration from summer flora and tropical islands, the watercolor rose and banano leaf patterns of the “Botanicals” models also feature color-matching straps, referencing the Brazilian textile art of macramé, which knots an assortment of fabrics to create decorative items.
With the collection’s release set for May 15, Dolce&Gabbana and Havaianas believe that their second edition of summer footwear bridges the qualities of versatility and elegance through the details and silhouettes that reflect a spontaneous lifestyle, whether that’s somewhere along the Italian countryside or a night in Los Angeles.
