The Lancôme x Louvre holiday campaign celebrates the rich heritage of Paris with a collection inspired by the city’s art and history
There is an enveloping feeling of romance, sophistication, and heritage when strolling the cobblestone streets of the French capital. Throughout each step, one may find themselves immersed in a city that feels like each stone and slab have stories to tell. Its distinctive Haussmannian architecture that fashioned the grandiose arches of the Arc de Triomphe and the looming Panthéon have only added to the city’s historic atmosphere.
A city built on a storied legacy, many of its distinguished marquis continue to stand proud amongst Paris’ chronicled pillars. For eighty-five years, Lancôme has been ingrained in the Parisian narrative, standing as a beauty brand that has captured the spirit of France in every bottle of fragrance, lip rouge, and palette. The approaching winter season gives rise to the beauty brand’s latest holiday campaign, titled “Gift The Extraordinary.”
In paying homage to the country’s rich heritage, the beauty brand had partnered with the Louvre museum: a gleaming pyramid that houses France’s paintings, sculptures, and art objects throughout different eras. With a scene set in a tour through the Louvre after dark, the collaboration sees itself inspired by the country’s history of artistry.
Embracing its historic and artistic narrative, the beauty brand unveils a variety of sets of skincare, makeup, and fragrances that house many of Lancôme’s lines.
The collection features skincare sets that showcases each of the beauty brand’s most prominent collections, including their Rénergie and Absolue series. Among them, their Génifique skin-repairing upgrade set features repairing serums and creams that serve as the highlight of their skincare collection, with their Rénergie cream being bundled alongside other Lancôme skincare products.
For their makeup set, the beauty brand puts their Hypnôse series at the forefront of this collaboration; featuring the Hypnôse Doll Eyes mascara, alongside Bi-Facil eye makeup removers and Génifique eye serums.
A highlight of their fragrance gift set are two specific perfumes—the La Vie Est Belle and the Idôle eau de parfum. The former is a fragrance that captures the experience of smelling a bouquet of flowers: unfolding in floral notes that blend of Iris accords with rich, natural tones of patchouli and sweet vanilla. In contrast to its other contemporaries, the Idôle eau de parfum adds an element of chypre to its aroma as it features a blend of white musk and jasmine, all while maintaining Lancôme’s distinguished rose base.
The Rose Beauty Box is a thoughtfully curated selection of Lancôme’s series of makeup, skincare, and fragrances. For either a daylight stroll through the Cathédrale Notre-Dame or a dinner atop the Eiffel Tower, the beauty box contains ten beauty products fit for any occasion. Among the collection, its notable selections are the L’absolu rouge intimatte, a lipstick in a soft, light matte formula; and a limited edition Christmas makeup palette in a variety of neutral shades. The beauty set is wrapped in gold-colored casing, with Lancôme’s Agora holiday rose being embossed throughout its cover.
Also made in the image of the beauty brand’s signature rose detailing, Lancôme releases their 2023 Advent Calendar to wrap up their holiday collection. The advent calendar is presented in a milky white box, with gold features across its lettering and the brand’s floral emblem. As the box unfolds, it reveals twenty-four unique Lancôme gifts for each day leading up toward Christmas— ranging from serums from their Génifique series, Idôle’s floral fragrances, to a Hypnôse Palette in textured shades of velvet, among a variety of other cosmetics.
