The Gold Heritage Collection features the jewelry house’s most prominent design elements as an homage to its origins in Geneva
It was the year 1983 when Philippe Charriol initially departed from the house of Cartier. Using his extensive knowledge of timepieces and jewelry, Philippe sought to find his own path in the realm of high luxury. His talents lead him toward the mountainous highlands of Geneva, where the intricacies of Celtic knots and metalwork planted a seed in Philippe’s mind. Four decades later, that seed continues to bear fruit, producing collections of regalia that pay homage to the Celts, with meticulous knotwork, interlacing patterns, and nature-inspired motifs being a mainstay of Charriol jewelry till present day.
Even after Philippe’s passing, the luxury house continues to honor his legacy in every article of jewelry. Succeeded by his daughter, Coralie Charriol, the house’s current CEO and creative director blazes a new trail that follows in Philippe’s penchant for the bold and the daring. Commemorating its 40th anniversary, Charriol debuts a series of ten items through its new “Heritage Line” as an homage toward its past, while also looking forward to its future.
Celtic Knot Bangle
A bracelet that is one part gold and one part steel, the Celtic Knot Bangle showcases the house’s signature cable motif that interlocks with a cuff made from 18-karat gold. Bridging the two metals, its clasp is encrusted with diamonds that wrap around each of the bangle’s ends.
Celtic Knot Ring
Similar to the bangle, the ring features identical design elements that blend both the Celtic Knot and a lustrous casing. Distinguishing itself from other pieces in the collection, the ring is connected with a rectangular block that hides the Charriol emblem within its interior lining.
Celtic Knot Earrings
The new series introduces a pair of earrings that integrate the house’s steel cable into its hoops. Its screw-backings are made entirely of gold, and holding the cables in its clutches are upper dangles that are adorned with diamonds, forming a shape reminiscent of the Charriol crest.
Celtic Dream Bangle
As part of the new collection, the Celtic Dream subline draws breath from the house’s tradition of openwork design. This design language is defined by ornamental patterns that are woven into openings and holes within each piece. Enveloped in gold, the cylindrical bangle reveals a harlequin pattern with a vein of celtic cables intertwined in its open spaces.
Celtic Dream Ring
The Celtic Dream Ring is constructed in a gold Décor, with open sections that uncover Charriol’s knots in a shade of deep plum. Wrapped around its exterior is a ring of diamonds, while its inner lining is highlighted by a debossed inscription of the Charriol name across its surface.
Celtic Dream Earrings
The parure is completed through a pair of matching earrings that expose the jewelry’s intricate metalwork in its construction. A trio of cables in a deep purple are weaved into the contrasting gold coloration, and are hung from its body in an almost semi-circle shape.
Celtic Triquetra Necklace
Celtic Triquetra Necklace
The triquetra is a prominent symbol in Celtic culture that depicts the power of the trinity between mind, body, and spirit. This depiction is what inspires this necklace, which features three strands of twisted cables (stainless steel, yellow, and rose gold) that intertwine to form a single, unified strand. The ends of each necklace are capped with crowns that come in a variety of shapes, customizable in either a hexagon, torchon or cube figures.
Biarritz Bangle
Nestled in the south-west of France’s coastline is a seaside town that holds centuries of history and culture within its stones. Biarritz, a town visited for its scenic views of the Atlantic’s deep blue, is guarded by natural rock formations and its architecture. These elements are what inspired the bangle, with the honed lines that call back toward the town’s structures woven into a series of four cables. The band is secured with a rectangular clasp in an 18-karat gold base, complemented by diamond stones.
Biarritz Ring
Accompanying the bangle is the Biarritz Ring, which features the same visual elements as its predecessor with its four cables and clasp. It retains the Mediterranean codes of the seaside town it draws inspiration from, and comes in a selection of either stainless steel or Charriol’s signature violet coloration.
St. Tropez Apple Watch
In mending their past history with their future, Charriol has released a series of bands that incorporate the house’s motifs into the Apple Watch. Highlighted by intricate metalwork, the bands are influenced by the design of the St. Tropez timepiece, with a sequence of interlocking cables and a chain attachment that replace the regular watch bracelet.
