After a rare sighting at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s star-studded Madison Garden Square wedding earlier this month, Filipino British singer-songwriter beabadoobee is returning to the stage and entering a new musical era with “Switchblade,” the latest single from her forthcoming fourth studio album, Pylon, set to be released on September 18, 2026.
Born in Iloilo City and raised in London, Beatrice Laus continues to cement her place as one of alternative music’s defining voices with over 10 billion streams worldwide. “Switchblade” builds on that emotional catch-22. Centered around the metaphor of a switchblade, the track explores the tension between self-preservation and vulnerability, posing the question: Do you start the fight / Or take the flight? Rather than offering easy answers, Laus leans into uncertainty, a theme that anchors Pylon. “Pylon is about accepting that negative feelings are going to come back, accepting the insecurity and feeling confused,” she shares. “You have to go through all that… I have to write about it.”
The album follows lead single “Sun Has Set” and arrives as beabadoobee prepares for the Powerlines Tour, her first arena tour and biggest headline run to date. Beginning in October, the tour will see her perform at landmark venues including Madison Square Garden, The Kia Forum, London’s The O2, and Manchester’s AO Arena.
