In celebration of its second anniversary, Vogue Philippines will celebrate Filipino fashion on a global stage through “Vogue Threads.”

Nestled in the city of Paris, the Palais Galliera has witnessed more than a century of art. Originally commissioned by the Duchess of Galliera, this 19th-century Beaux-Arts museum was completed in 1894 by Paul-René-Léon Ginain. The duchess dreamed of a space to house her expansive art collection, and while that vision was never fully realized in her lifetime, the palace would eventually house the works of various artists. On September 25, it will showcase Filipino fashion through Vogue Threads, a celebration hosted by Vogue Philippines.

Vogue Threads will bring local and international guests together to celebrate Filipino craftsmanship through a dinner and exhibit. Filipino designers were tasked to create pieces that represent the archipelago, and Philippine craft and form. The designs will be displayed through maquettes, a miniature scale model used as patterns before executing a full-scale design.

“We begin another conversation with Vogue threads. One that showcases the work of our designers—who exemplify the ideals of our craft, our community, our culture. Through their work, they connect the past with the future, tailoring to technology and the Philippines to the world,” says Vogue Philippines editor-in-chief Bea Valdes.

With the creative direction of “A representation of the Philippine Archipelago; celebration of craft and form,” designers Prince Padilla, Joey Samson, Jerome Lorico, Rhett Eala, Ivarluski Aseron, Hannah Adrias, Milka Quin, Ino Caluza of Viktor, Gabbie Sarenas and others will display their works in Vogue Threads.
