Netflix premiered the second season of the One Piece live-action series on March 10, 2026, bringing eight new episodes that introduce additional cast members and fresh characters.

The crew sets sail for another adventure as Netflix unveils the second season of its One Piece live-action series. All eight episodes of the second season premiered on Netflix on March 10, 2026, opening with the episode titled “The Beginning and the End.” After the first season gained global popularity, the series topped the charts in 46 countries and landed in the top 10 in 93, becoming the platform’s most-watched show during the second half of 2023. Its strong reception quickly led to a renewal for a second season, with filming beginning in June 2024.

Developed by Matt Owens and Steven Maeda, the series is a live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s 1997 manga, with Oda serving as creative consultant. It follows the Straw Hat Pirates as they chase their individual dreams while searching the seas for the legendary treasure known as the “One Piece,” said to have been hidden by the former “King of the Pirates,” Gol D. Roger.

The series stars Iñaki Godoy, Emily Rudd, Mackenyu, Jacob Romero Gibson, Taz Skylar, and Mikaela Hoover as the Straw Hat Pirates. Also joining the cast is Filipina American actress Julia Rehwald, who plays Marine officer Tashigi. Rehwald is best known for her role as Kate Schmidt in Fear Street Part One: 1994, where she played a cheerleader trying to escape the cursed town of Shadyside.

Building on the excitement of the new season, Eiichiro Oda traveled to South Africa for filming, catching up with the returning cast from season one. He also spent time getting to know the season two newcomers, including Charithra Chandran from Bridgerton and Sendhil Ramamurthy from Never Have I Ever.

“My own casting selections were made from Japan over photos and videos, but seeing them all in person convinced me: They were absolutely the perfect choice!” Oda wrote in a letter from his visit.

With the second season still underway, fan reactions and viewer buzz are shaping the conversation around the show, as all eyes are on what comes next.
