Dolly De Leon Set To Work With Nicole Kidman In Nine Perfect Strangers

The acclaimed actress’ casting in the Hulu original is the latest Hollywood project she has nabbed since receiving acclaim for Triangle of Sadness

Hollywood’s demand for Dolly de Leon is showing no signs of slowing down. The Golden Globe-nominated actress, who received international acclaim for her breakout role in Triangle of Sadness, has been announced as one the latest cast in the second season of the Hulu original series Nine Perfect Strangers

Currently the top original series on Hulu, Nine Perfect Strangers is a drama based on the novel by Liane Moriarty. Starring Academy Award-winner Nicole Kidman, it tells the story of ten city dwellers who check into The Tranquillum, a health and wellness resort that turns out to be something completely different. The new season follows the same premise, but will be set in the Swiss Alps. While specific details about de Leon’s character have yet to be released, the actress was announced as one of the ten new strangers entering The Tranquillum along with two-time Academy Award nominee Liv Ullman, Emmy award winner and The White Lotus’ Murray Bartlett, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, and Aryas Adin.

Triangle of Sadness’  2022 Cannes Film Festival Palme d’Or win has put the Filipina actress on the map worldwide, receiving acclaim for her performance as cleaning lady-turned-shipwreck survivor Abigail, including a Best Supporting Actress nod from the LA Film Critics Awards and subsequent nominations at the Golden Globes and the BAFTAs. Apart from Nine Perfect Strangers, de Leon is set to appear in Paul Feig’s action comedy Grand Death Lotto and an independent film, Between The Temples.

Most recently, de Leon was invited into The Academy of Motion Picture and Arts along with fellow actors Austin Butler (Elvis), Keke Palmer (Nope) and Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All at Once). “My dream has always been clear to me-to work with artists I admire and respect. This was never part of the plan,” the actress wrote on Instagram. “Did I even wish for it to happen? No. Because I never thought it could. But it’s happened and it’s a step closer to the goal and gives many others like me HOPE. For those of you who dare to dream, know that nothing is impossible. Now it’s your turn. Laban!!“(Fight!!)
