The 2026 SAG Actor Awards were Sunday night, and you know what that means: the Oscars are just around the corner, and the endless slog… I mean, the pure delight of awards season is nearly at an end.
So, did three-time host Kristen Bell crush it quite as hard as, say, Nikki Glaser at the Golden Globes? Well, no—but it was a fairly lovely night out in Hollywood, nevertheless. Below, find six of the best moments from the 2026 Actor Awards, from a reunion of the cast of The Office to a touching commemoration of the late Catherine O’Hara’s life and work.
That Abbott Elementary opener
It’s always fun when an awards show gets a little meta, and having the cast of Abbott Elementary discuss this year’s nominees in the teachers’ lounge was the perfect way to name-check basically every nominee while still being fun (and paying tribute to one of the most consistently funny sitcoms currently on TV).
A moving tribute to Catherine O’Hara
Attendees got to their feet as Seth Rogen delivered a short but extremely sweet speech about the late comedic icon, who posthumously won outstanding performance by a female actor in a comedy series for her work on The Studio.
“If you have people in your lives that don’t know her work, just show them O’Hara dancing to Harry Belafonte in Beetlejuice. Show them O’Hara hurting her knee in Best in Show and doing that amazing thing where she hobbles around, and tell the people as they are laughing that that’s Catherine O’Hara, and we were lucky that we got to live in a world where she so generally shared her talents with us,” Rogen said.
The women of The Office reuniting onstage
As a devoted Office Ladies podcast stan, I was thrilled to see co-hosts Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey join their former The Office costars Mindy Kaling and Ellie Kemper to…well, kind of ramble (albeit cutely!) about how sitcoms used to get picked up for much longer seasons.
A worthy rom-com tribute
Speaking of Kaling, it was fun to see her and Andie McDowell weigh in on the fine and subtle art of the romantic comedy during a clip package that featured iconic moments from When Harry Met Sally…, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Heated Rivalry (!), and many more.

Glad we’re giving this diva his well-deserved flowers, despite that very long introduction from Woody Harrelson!
Michael B. Jordan’s acceptance speech
I’m obsessed with Jordan consistently bringing his mom, Donna, as his date to award shows, and she was on hand once again at the 2026 Actor Awards to see her son win the coveted Actor Award for best male actor in a leading role for his performance in Sinners. “Just being in this room right now with all these people who have seen me grow up in front of the camera and in these rooms… and I feel the love and support that you’ve always given me and encouraged me to do my best,” Jordan said, adding: “Man, it’s pretty cool.” Sinners would go on to scoop the prize for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture.
