In line with the 2026 BAFTAs, we’re looking back at the stars who have made a case for vintage on the red carpet. Last year, Kylie Jenner continued her archival streak as she joined boyfriend Timothée Chalamet inside the awards ceremony, wearing a black sequin slip dress from John Galliano’s spring/summer 1995 collection. Back in 2023, meanwhile, Cate Blanchett reaffirmed her status as the queen of rewears in a Maison Margiela dress that she debuted at the 2015 Oscars.
Wearing vintage on the red carpet isn’t just a new thing, of course. Rewinding to 2018, Kate Moss delivered her signature effortless cool in a slinky all-black vintage ensemble, while in 2015, Felicity Jones gave us red-carpet romance in an archival Dior gown, delicately embroidered with cherry blossoms. And finally, few vintage looks have been as unforgettable as Sienna Miller’s backless, mermaid-style vintage Ungaro gown at the 2007 BAFTAs.
Below, revisit some of the best vintage looks at the BAFTAs to date.
