Congratulations, Kourtney Kardashian! On Friday, the 44-year-old reality TV star and lifestyle mogul announced she is pregnant with her fourth child, and her first with husband Travis Barker, 47.

In lieu of a more conventional pregnancy reveal, such as a staged photo shoot posted to Instagram, Kardashian’s approach was a little more unorthodox. While attending a concert for her husband’s band, Blink-182, at the BMO Stadium in Los Angeles last night, Kardashian chose an opportune moment to raise a hand-painted cardboard sign that read: “Travis I’m Pregnant.” After the sign was captured by cameras and beamed to the screens at the side of the stage, Barker’s bandmate Mark Hoppus added: “Someone’s having a baby!” (Kardashian later confirmed the news by posting a clip of her waving the sign in a shared post with Barker.)

While Kardashian and Barker have been friends for many years, they first went public with their whirlwind romance in February of 2021, sharing an Instagram post of themselves holding hands. After plenty of dates, family trips, and even Barker getting Kardashian’s name tattooed on his chest, in November of that same year, they announced their engagement, with Barker popping the question on a candlelit beach in Montecito, California.

In April 2022, on the night of the Grammy Awards, the pair headed to a chapel in Las Vegas after the show to spontaneously tie the knot. Despite a ceremony taking place, however, they were unable to obtain a marriage license due to the late hour. A few weeks later, they made things official in a low-key ceremony at a Santa Barbara courthouse, driving away from the event in a convertible featuring a “Just Married” sign.

The main event took place in May 2022, when the couple said “I do” for the first time with a lavish multi-day wedding extravaganza in Portofino, Italy. At the time, Kardashian gave Vogue an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at her dramatic lace and satin Dolce & Gabbana gown, which was inspired by 1960s Italian lingerie, the Mediterranean gardens found across the seaside town, and Catholic iconography. “Designing my dresses with Domenico and Stefano has been a dream come true in every way,” Kardashian told Vogue at the time.

Since then, the couple has expressed their wish to have a child together, with Kardashian already sharing three children—Mason, Penelope, and Reign—with her former partner, Scott Disick. Barker, meanwhile, has three children of his own with ex-wife Shanna Moakler: their biological children Landon and Alabama, as well as his stepdaughter Atiana, who he helped raise during his relationship with Moakler.

Throughout season two of The Kardashians, the couple shared their wish to continue growing their blended family, with Kardashian opening up to her mom, Kris, about their attempts to have a baby through IVF. In the season three premiere, released last month, Kardashian shared that they had decided to end their IVF journey, citing the physical and emotional toll of the process, but also noted that they would continue to try to have a baby together.
