This April, Vogue Philippines launches its YouTube channel with exclusive videos of its stories.
It has been almost two years since Vogue Philippines launched the maiden issue featuring cover star Chloe Magno. Since then, the title has brought its readers through different facets of the fashion, beauty along the cultural landscape of the Philippines and beyond. Now, it will take its readers to the stories beyond the pages with the launch of its official YouTube channel.
Vogue Philippines launched the YouTube channel with “Apo Whang-Od and the Thousand-Year-Old Tradition Live On.” Apo Whang-Od, the face of its viral April 2023 Beauty issue, is known as the last mambabatok (traditional tattoo artist) of her generation in Buscalan. In the video, Whang-Od and her grandniece Grace Palicas talk about passing on the tradition of stick and thorn tattooing to a new generation of artists.
In the near future, subscribers can look forward to the launch of “Vogue Beauty.” The series offers viewers a glimpse into the routines of creatives, personalities, and celebrities. Launched in Vogue US, the series has had the likes of Kendall Jenner, Olivia Rodrigo, and Ariana Grande. The pilot episode of Vogue Beauty in the Philippines will feature Megan Young, Hannah Pangilinan, and Angelina Cruz, with the first episode launching on April 26.
