This November, the final Mercury Retrograde of the year commences. As we go through this time period, Chinggay Labrador of Practical Magic shares a few tips.

At long last, we have arrived at the last Mercury retrograde of the year. Lasting until November 29, 2025, the Mercury retrograde is a time period when the planet Mercury appears to move backward in the sky from the Earth’s perspective. In astrology, this motion is associated with problems in communication, travel, and technology.

In a recent episode of the podcast, Your Weekly Oracle by Practical Magic, tarot reader Chinggay Labrador shares a few tips for getting through the Mercury retrograde.

When it comes to communication, find your anchor

During the retrograde, talking to other people, sending out emails, contracts, and things of that nature can be tricky. Regarding communication mix-ups, Labrador says you can take a deep breath first. “Over the last couple of years, we’ve done things and we’ve set up systems in our life to establish harmony,” she says. “And sometimes tornadoes come in, storms literally come in to wreak havoc on this harmony.”

Despite the storms and tornadoes, Labrador says that because this harmony has been long established, you can trust and have faith that things will go back to normal. However, still exercise caution with how we talk with others. She suggests focusing on what works in your communication right now and using it as an anchor when trouble comes.

When travelling, manage your expectations

Others say that you shouldn’t make travel plans when it’s Mercury retrograde, but sometimes it can’t be helped. Whether you are travelling or have travel plans on the horizon, Labrador says to manage your expectations. “Don’t focus so much on the more that may be waiting on the other side,” she says. “Be present and be here and now and just be appreciative that you are attaining some sort of goal as far as travel is concerned.”

When there are signals of technology troubles, pay attention to them

If you have a feeling that your gadgets are going to go haywire or break down, Labrador advises trusting your intuition and putting up all security measures that you’re able to. “If something is bothering you, keeping you up at night, and it’s giving you this feeling that you have to attend to some kind of tech thing even at inconvenient hours, go do it,” she says. “Because it’s just better to be safe than sorry.”
