Top 5 Trends From Milan Fashion Week

Phil Oh

Milan—the fashion week stop that delivered multiple inaugural collections and a fresh set of fall trends.

The penultimate edition of fashion week served a slew of memorable shows—particularly, stunning debuts from the likes of Salvatore Ferragamo, AVAV, Etro, and Bally, the latter helmed by Filipino-American designer Rhuigi Villaseñor.

The reenergizing mood surrounding the new appointments flowed into the city too, where attendees donned the latest fall drops. Ahead, see the trends that reigned during the in-betweens of the season’s much-awaited shows.

Color Match

A wild guess: you probably own at least one power suit, plain or pinstripe, in black or navy. Our proposal: at least one more suit, playful this time, in timeless candy colors. Style hacks include adding an exaggerated ’70s collar to a butter yellow pair, doubling shirt layers under a Barbie pink set, and, following Lili Reinhart’s example, a ribbed bandeau to complement a mint green match.

Prada, Please

Wave hello to Prada’s scoop white tank—the season’s most coveted item. See how sartorialists proved its versatility, by styling it with a full, pleated skirt, oversized leather jacket, and a paneled bodycon midi skirt.

Leopard Mania

Park your logos, because we’re about to experience a leopard renaissance. The gaudy animal print returns plastered on modern cuts like a bustier maxi dress, head-scarf-and-button-down set, and as a look-completing accessory.

Easy Breezy

Separates are light and flowing this fall, readily leaning into feminine sensibilities. Style neutral delicates with subdued undergarments for a tonal ensemble, or bright coordinates with a neon brassiere for a color-block look.

Fall Frosting

Florals, jewels, and studs—we want them all, especially on our jackets. These ornate outerwear pieces remain essentially functional, boosting your ensemble all while keeping you warm. Our picks are Prada’s floral appliqué nylon bomber, Bottega Veneta’s metal-studded shearling coat, and Dolce & Gabbana’s crystal-embellished denim jacket. Trust us, you’ll want to add these to cart.
