The actress turned heads in a stunning, ruffled gown.

Only a few months after welcoming her third child, Michelle Williams hit the red carpet at the Golden Globes. The actor was nominated for “Best Actress” for her acclaimed role in the Steven Spielberg-directed drama The Fablemans. For the special occasion, she wore a cream gown by Gucci that featured dramatic, oversized ruffles along the one-shoulder silhouette. The expertly tailored gown also included a cinched waist and a high-slit, making it a bold and enchanting statement piece of postpartum fashion.

Williams tells Vogue walking the Golden Globes red carpet was a welcome break. “Red carpets are moments of escapism from daily life for me, so I try to have a bit of fun with it when I can,” she says, adding “This dress feels very special and the collaborative effort with the Gucci team and Kate was a great experience. I’m in awe of the craftsmanship that went into making it.”

Williams’ favorite parts of the outfit? “It’s the illusion of movement, the reinforcement of the hidden structure combined with a sense of fluidity—from the cascading fabric, to the intricate jeweled details that reflect the light.”
