The Kylie Cosmetics founder’s Filipino fans will be proud of her successful fashion risks at the shows.
Attending an event like Paris Fashion Week is not the time for celebrities to play it safe with their outfits. When stars are invited to sit front row at a show, they’re expected to look the part of a VIP guest—meaning, you bring a statement look. Someone who understood the assignment this week? Kylie Jenner. Already adept at dressing up, the star leveled up her style even more by taking risks throughout the week. The unexpected choices have paid off.
With each presentation that she’s attended in Paris this week, Jenner has slipped into a look bolder than the next. While each look is wildly different, they’ve all had theatrical, avant-garde silhouettes that pack a punch. Notably, they are a departure from the sleeker, bodycon dresses that she typically wears. At the Schiaparelli show a few days ago, for one, she wore a blue velvet gown by the label with a plunging sweetheart neckline, complete with a giant anatomical heart-pendant necklace that made her resemble a Disney villain (everyone knows they’re always the best dressed characters). At the Balenciaga show this morning, she also wore a fuzzy floor-length dress in hot pink, complete with Batgirl-esque shades.
Even her more casual moments during Paris Fashion Week have made an impact. At the Loewe show, she wore the brand’s polished gray overcoat, but it was her underpinnings that made a statement. She wore a simple logo tank and Loewe briefs, making intimates more of an outerwear moment. At Acne Studios, she reimagined the classic jersey dress. Hers was in white and complete with a draped back cape, and then accessorized with giant white bug-eye sunglasses (her go-to accessory this week, clearly).
While Jenner has always loved her designer wears, it’s her willingness to think outside of the box and experiment—and to drastically switch up her look at each show!—that has cemented her as one of Paris’s best-dressed attendees this week. And there’s still two days left of shows, meaning we just may get one or two more epic Jenner moments. Stay tuned!
