This evening, the 82nd annual Golden Globes proved a stellar start to the 2025 awards season. Kicking off a slew of ceremonies over the next few months—including the Critics Choice Awards, Grammys, and Oscars—tonight’s affair provided ample star power. Globe nominees such as Nicole Kidman, Selena Gomez, Timothée Chalamet, and Mikey Madison brought their finest formal attire to the red carpet. The fashion M.O. of the evening? A new kind of Hollywood glamour, defined by a sense of refinement and modernity.
Highlights included Cate Blanchett, who revisited the gold Louis Vuitton gown that she wore to the Cannes Film Festival last year. Wicked star Ariana Grande also pulled a look from the archives, with her buttery yellow vintage Givenchy couture gown from 1966. Elsewhere, Challengers star Zendaya shined in custom Louis Vuitton, which, according to stylist Law Roach, paid homage to Joyce Bryant, a Black singer who broke barriers in the glamorous nightclub scene of the 1940s. Indeed, some of the night’s best dressed stars were those who dressed with intention.
As for some of the best dressed gents at the Beverly Hilton, Colman Domingo—ever the red carpet star—was a standout in his sleek Valentino tuxedo, complete with a bow-wrapped neck tie. Timothée Chalamet also opted for a skinny necktie and ultra-slim suit by Tom Ford—a tailoring look that mimics the skinny suits he sports as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown. But the most memorable menswear moment went to Jeremy Strong, who pulled off a minty green suit and matching bucket hat. Wacky and fun!
