Mega Global Group Inc. appoints Trickie Lopa as editor-in-chief of Vogue Philippines and Bea Valdes as chief content officer.
MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Mega Global Group Inc., the publisher of Vogue, Allure, and GQ in the Philippines, today announced a significant evolution in its leadership team. Bea Valdes, who has led Vogue Philippines since its inception in 2022, will transition to the role of chief content officer for the group. Succeeding her as Vogue Philippines editor-in-chief is the pioneering cultural entrepreneur and arts advocate, Trickie Lopa.
This strategic shift comes as the group approaches its fourth anniversary, signaling a commitment to high-level creative integration across its portfolio of global titles licensed by Condé Nast. In her new role, Valdes will oversee the editorial direction and creative synergy for Vogue, Allure, and GQ Philippines, working closely with editors-in-chief to ensure a cohesive, world-class vision.
“We are thrilled to have Bea Valdes at the helm of our broader content strategy while welcoming Trickie Lopa to lead Vogue Philippines,” says Archie Carrasco, Mega Global Group Inc. chairman and CEO. “Bea’s unparalleled eye for detail will harmonize our titles, while Trickie’s deep expertise in cultural development and creative advocacy will undoubtedly make Vogue Philippines a source of inspiration for audiences across generations.”
A New Chapter for Vogue Philippines
Trickie Lopa, formerly the Vogue Philippines deputy editor for arts and culture, steps into the role of editor-in-chief with over two decades of experience in the creative industries. As the co-founder of Philippine Art Events Inc., she led the creation of Art Fair Philippines and Art in the Park, both recognized as essential benchmarks in the country’s cultural calendar.
A graduate of AB Management Economics from Ateneo de Manila University with further studies at George Washington University and the Victoria and Albert Museum, Lopa is also the co-founder and chairman of PHx Fashion Group Inc. This initiative focuses on educating and elevating emerging Filipino designers to operate at global standards.
“Vogue has always been the ultimate chronicler of the zeitgeist. By integrating a deep appreciation for our unique art and cultural practice with the global fashion standard, we aim to showcase the best of the Filipino spirit to the world,” Lopa says.
Unified Creative Vision
As Mega Global Group Inc. chief content officer, Bea Valdes will leverage her international standing as a designer and her three-year tenure shaping the visual narrative of Vogue Philippines to guide the group’s multi-platform experience.
“I am honored to take on this responsibility at such a promising and pivotal time for the Philippines, and for Philippine media,” Valdes says. “Our goal is to continue to create a robust, multi-platform experience that celebrates the Filipino spirit through the lenses of fashion, beauty, and lifestyle, championing our dynamic stories of our culture’s evolution and its place in the wider global conversation.”
The transition comes as Vogue Philippines continues to expand its reach, with Allure and GQ Philippines poised to redefine their respective categories under this new unified editorial and creative leadership.
