Suits and blazers aren’t the only things that looked sharp at the 2025 Met Gala. On the blue carpet, beauty looks were just as tailored as the outfits.

Every year, the first Monday of May creates a buzz around the Met Gala carpet looks. With the theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” attendees showed up in their finely fitted ensembles, showing precision in their tailored outfits. When your Met Gala look is this sharp, the same attention to detail to beauty must be applied to complete the look.

From vintage hairstyles to bedazzled makeup looks, look at some emerging beauty trends from the 2025 Met Gala below.

The most prominent beauty trends can be seen on the attendees’ crowning glory. Returning to the ‘20s, ‘30s, and ‘40s, kiss curls, finger waves, and pin-up styles were spotted on the blue carpet, worn by figures such as Dua Lipa, Serena Williams, and Lana Del Rey.

Smokey Eyes

Adding a bit of drama to the eyes is a classic beauty favorite. For this year’s Met Gala, various iterations of smokey eyes can be seen on the carpet, including Quinta Brunson’s smokey eyeliner look and Ayo Edibiri’s bronzed cut crease with elongated lashes.

With all the structured hairstyles, dramatic eyes, and tailored ensembles, a nude lip became the popular choice for this year’s gala. To add definition, celebrities Sabrina Carpenter, Zendaya, and Gigi Hadid lined the outer edges of their lips, creating a sharper, structured look.

On the blue carpet, embellishments aren’t just for clothes or accessories. Lupita Nyong’o drew attention to her eyes with her brows, which are covered in black, gray, and green crystals. Diana Ross also adds embellishments to the outer corners of her eyes and in the middle of her forehead. On the other hand, Megan Thee Stallion chose to add some sparkle to her hair by adding a trail of crystals where her middle part would be.
