Couture is one of the most glamorous weeks of the year, but this season showgoers were also choosing simplicity. Among the people rocking head-to-toe bespoke, there were also stylish denizens pairing their Chanel tweeds and Valentino knits with a classic pair of jeans, and others who opted for the official all-black fashion uniform.
Those who wanted to bring a heavier dose of glam to the shows got really creative, turning their Chanel camellias and gilded Schiaparelli brooches into hair accoutrements that decorated their updos. And the real fans emulated the designer’s own personal style, piling up their jewelry à la Alessandro Michele.

Italian Dressing
Take a cue from Valentino’s Alessandro Michele, and wear all of your finest clothes and jewels.
All Black Everything
As Yves Saint Laurent once said, “black makes your life so much simpler. Everything matches black, especially black.”
Nicely Coifed
Chanel camellias are the best kind of hair care.
Shoulder Game
If big shoulders were the trend at the menswear shows, at couture it was all about a tasteful décolletage.
