Pharrell Williams Takes Louis Vuitton To The East For The Louis Vuitton Men’s Pre-Fall 2024 Show

Nestled along the Tsim Sha Tsui shoreline, Hong Kong’s Avenue of Stars boasts a panoramic stage that offers stunning views of Victoria Harbor and Hong Kong’s skyline. Bronze plaques pave the path, etched with the immortalized names, handprints, and signatures of esteemed actors, directors, and visionaries of the silver screen. Rich in luxury and glamor, it’s the perfect setting for the Louis Vuitton Men’s Pre-Fall 2024 fashion show.

Since his appointment as Louis Vuitton Men’s creative director, producer-slash-fashion visionary Pharell Williams flipped the script and made headlines with his debut collection at Louis Vuitton Men’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection. His first collection sparked excitement, refreshing the Maison’s trademark designs. Exhibit A: the Louis Vuitton Damier check pattern was blended with pixelated camouflage prints, giving birth to the “Damouflage.” It’s a testament to his impeccable taste in fashion; beyond having an ear for music, Williams proved that he has an eye for design and a finger on the market’s pulse.

Williams has expressed his gratitude for his appointment. He said, “When you come from a culture that has been purposefully blocked and set in disadvantaged situations, you can’t imagine what’s even possible. But there’s this narrative that’s changing. So many of us are being swept up from one place and landing in fertile soil in other places, and being treated and watered and sunned like all souls should be. I can say there is an impact in that way, which is changing. It’s not enough but it’s happening. I’m very honored to be a part of that. When I say the sun is shining on me–and it’s shining on all of us–it’s listen, this is a French house but they went right back to America and found another Black man, and gave me the keys.”

The sun does indeed continue to shine for Williams, and after the sun goes down at the Avenue of Stars, he will unveil his vision for Louis Vuitton Men’s Pre-Fall 2024 collection. And if there’s anything that we count on, it’s the fact that Williams knows how to put on a show.
