Gigi Hadid Is a Renaissance Princess in Valentino Haute Couture at Vogue World: Milano

Supermodel Gigi Hadid opened the Vogue World: Milano runway in a show-stopping Valentino gown from the spring 2025 collection. The dramatic period-inspired piece is one of the first Alessandro Michele designed as creative director for the Italian house, unveiled in Paris in January 2025.
“It’s as if each dress evokes, by association, a multitude of interconnected worlds: a feverish and uninterrupted layering of references that makes its uniqueness burst forth,” Michele explained in the show notes.
The dress is crafted from recycled Venetian quilts, and took 1,680 hours to be completed by hand. Featuring voluminous puffed sleeves and a full skirt, it represents a postmodern interpretation of patchwork. At the top, a ruffled collar with matching cuffs (cut from ivory organza) adorns the dress. Hadid’s opening look was completed by Valentino shoes and Damiani earrings.
