Sabrina Carpenter Is Churning Out Butter Yellow Looks

Last summer may have been a “strawberry girl summer,” but this year it’s all about a much more subdued shade: butter yellow. While Sabrina Carpenter is a spitfire performer (or, a shot of espresso, if you will), she is also proving herself to be a pioneering fan of the subdued shade.

The “Please Please Please” singer hit the Variety Power of Young Hollywood party in Santa Monica alongside the likes of Addison Rae, Sadie Sink, and Laufey. Attending as a cover star, Carpenter dressed for her exalted role in an appropriately glamorous Miu Miu dress.

The pale yellow loom featured a bustier top, a nipped waist, and a sheer skirt. While the construction was downright divine, the embellishments are what gave the dress its wow factor. The neckline, straps, waistline, and skirt seams were covered in white rhinestones, while the top and skirt shimmered with intricate beadwork patterns.

This is the second time in recent memory that Carpenter has embraced this season’s ‘It’ color. In June, at the New York music festival Governor’s Ball, she wore a pastel yellow minidress with a heart-shaped cutout on the chest from Ukrainian brand Frolov. That’s not where the similarities end, either: the performance look was also festooned with beads and sparkles. As the saying goes: it it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!

Like Sabrina Carpenter, Hailey Bieber has also rubber-stamped the color of the moment. Bieber has been all in on butter yellow, wearing a sheer Jacquemus dress and accompanying accessories to her baby shower earlier this month. With these two in its corner, butter yellow is getting some great PR.
